In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro got an incredible email that he wants to share. Dorian has shown Alpha what he’s done… but more than that, he’s shown Alpha is possible. In one year, he went from 431 pounds to 279 pounds! He went from a 56 inch to 42 inch waist. He decided he ‘had enough’ and wanted to do something about it.
Small changes add up. It doesn’t happen over night, and it takes keeping going. It’s easier to maintain in the long run as you are developing a skill and new habits. Once you do it for a while, it becomes part of your routine. If you decide if you want to do something, the only person who can talk you out of it is YOU! You can do anything you set your mind to. Bad foods and a poor lifestyle are an addiction. You have to train yourself to make better choices. Nothing tastes as good as looking good feels! Dorian understand– do you?

My one true goal is to get people to realize that extreme weight loss is possible without the need of drugs or surgery. It just requires you to educate yourself about it, dedicate yourself to it and put in the hard work everyday to see results. I always thought that a big guy like me would never be able to lose the weight unless I had surgery or I was lucky enough to be featured on one of those weight loss shows like the biggest loser where I would receive help to do it. My attempts in the past failed and by getting into the mindset of thinking there was no help, I, in way gave myself and excuse to not deal with my weight. I think a lot of overweight people do that and it shouldn’t be that way. There is hope and I want people to know that!

To lose the weight, I started counting calories. I used and still continue to use the app MyFitnessPal to help track what I eat. You told me to make small changes so I changed what I ate to start with. I introduced healthy foods and cut out soda, fruit juices and fast food. I gave myself one cheat meal a week to stay sane and that’s what I did for a month.

After a month, I decided to put my dusty but brand new treadmill to use and started walking. At first I was doing maybe 15mins and but as I built up more endurance, I got stronger and minutes turned to miles and walking turned to running. I now do about 20miles a week. You stressed that I do my cardio fasted so I make sure I do that on days I that I run. I also do intermittent fasting to help shed the pounds. I drink at least a gallon of water a day and eat a healthy mix of carbs, protein and fat. I’ve followed this same routine for over a year now and it’s worked wonders.

I actually lost the first 100lbs in 6 months. You told me it would come off quick in the beginning and it sure did, lol. I want to start lifting soon because I feel like I’m approaching a point where the cardio getting boring and I want to burn more fat and fill in the lose skin with muscle. I’m scared to be honest but I think when I get the hang of it it will become second nature like running has become.

As far as my biggest challenge, I’d have to say that it was myself. The physical part of losing weight (like running and eating) is simple, it’s the mental part that is really hard! I constantly have to fight the voice in my head that is telling me to give up and trying to make me question whether it is all worth it. I hear him but I don’t let his words stop me. I have to look at the bigger picture and realize that I can never go back to the way I was so the voices words become irrelevant. I just have to keep pushing forward!

The most rewarding aspect has been being able to fit in the clothes I like and a boost in self-confidence! I used to avoid mirrors in the public like the plague but now I enjoy seeing my smaller self in the reflected image. I really enjoy being able to shop at most stores in the mall and not the big and tall stores. The clothes are way cheaper, cut better and more stylish. I also took my Dodge Charger Super Bee to the track last week! I was afraid to race it when I was big because I thought my weight would slow it down. I know that sounds dumb but I was afraid to lose to someone in a similar car and I would think that they’re probably laughing at me and thinking the reason I lost was because my fat ass was weighing the car down. Anyways, I won 3 out of 4 races and it was a good time!

So that’s about it unless you have anymore questions. I’d love to see the video when you finish it. Again, thanks for your positive influence on me and for giving me an opportunity to help others through this video!
