How to Spot | Spotting Free Weight Squats

Join Cory and Alpha at the gym while they perform squats. Aaron Marino of alpha m. demonstrates how to correctly and safely spot a lifter when squatting. Think of yourself as a second skin to this person which keeps everyone safe.

Hook your arms underneath and squat with the lifter. Get in as close as you need to, keeping your arms hooked. If they struggle, that is when you actually start to squat and lift with them. Start with a lighter weight and work your way up if you are just beginning. Boom!
