We need style rules to keep us safe, to keep us from embarrassing ourselves, and to prevent us from looking super creepy around spicy senoritas. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM  https://iamalpham.com/ AaronMarino https://aaronmarino.com/ Pete & Pedro https://peteandpedro.com/ Tiege Hanley https://www.tiege.com/and ENEMY https://enemy.com/ says that some rules need to be broken, however. We need to shake things up, evolve, and change according to the time and situation.

Style + Etiquette Rules That Are Dated As HELL!

  1. Matching your metals — you can actually blend metals harmoniously.
  2. The handshake — what happened to it during this pandemic? Elbow taps and knuckle bumps are more the norm now more than ever.
  3. Matching your shoes with your belt — leather shoes and belts need to match, but you can play with different colors which Alpha demonstrates. Anson Belts make it easy to mix-and-match with the interchangeable belts and buckles. The white minimal leather sneakers look sharp as hell with the blue & white fabric Anson belt. All Anson belts work on a track system so no nasty holes!
  4. Elbows on the table — this etiquette rule is super old school based on unsturdy tables. You can lean forward with your elbows on the table to be engaged with whomever you’re dining with.
  5. Matching your socks with your pants — you don’t have to, but instead, you can add pops of color with your socks.
  6. Standing up at the table every time a woman gets up from the table — this isn’t necessarily the case, but you should pull the chair out for her to be seated when your date arrives at the table. You don’t have to do this with a business meeting.
  7. Never wearing black with brown — black and brown together actually looks incredible and can take your outfit to the next level.
  8. Having the man pay for the date — (a) if you ask someone out on a date, you should pay, but (b) if they say ‘no, I’ve got this’, then let them do it. When they ask you out on a date, it’s up to you whether or not you pay. If they say it’s their treat, then allow them to pay. But don’t be that dude who is always expecting the other person to pay. If you are low on cash, think of affordable and creative options such as a walk in the park, attending a festival, shopping at a flea market, or grabbing coffee.
  9. Wearing glasses inside — just kidding! It’s never acceptable to wear sunglasses inside. After three steps into the room, they should be removed. Don’t put them on your head as hair product will get on the lenses.
  10. Not subscribing to the Alpha M. Channel — subscribing has always been cool, so turn on that notification bell, gentlemen!
