Is Being a Barber a Good Career Choice?
Alpha is visiting Christian over at Barbearia. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro talks to him about being a barber after his cut.
Christian is new in the barber world.
Christian decided to go into barbering after being a full time music student at Georgia State. He decided that degree is not for him, so his barber at the time suggested this career shift. You can be an apprentice or go to barber school. It took him about a year and 1/2 about 4 years ago. It opened a lot of doors for him, and it’s a lot of fun. He can still be creative as well as control his own schedule. He meets a lot of people and has great conversations.
The barber culture is hot right now.
Christian thinks this culture used to be bigger back in the day with a resurgence about 5 years ago when guys started to care more about their hair. You can make whatever you want in this career, whether part-time up to traveling the world. The careers is also recession proof (even more than women’s hair) – everyone needs a hair cut (some men as often as once a week), and it’s not a high ticket price service. The service can go as low as $15 and high as $200-$500 with the average around $20-$40.
