Back when he was 22 y/o, he was hit by a drunk-driver when driving a motorcycle. He lived with this damaged leg until three years ago when his doctor discussed options of either fusing his ankle or amputating below the knee. Mike decided to proceed with amputation which ultimately he wished he had done it 10-years ago.
