The first thing you need to pay attention to is your hand position. Go in straight. Make sure you’re meeting web to web. As soon as you hit, you’re grabbing. Wrap your finger and be ready for it. If you’re not ready, your hand will crumple. Shake- 1, 2, 3, release. Don’t pull them towards you. Your grip should be firm but not too firm. If your hand is sweaty, wipe your hand on your thigh before engaging.
With friends or family, you can knuckle bump or hug. However, in the business world or when you’re meeting someone for the first time, you need a masterful handshake. Practice and get feedback.
